Volunteers have been the heart of the Grange and it's accomplishments since its creation. The Grange has become a leader in communities across the country through the help of it's volunteers, and this Convention is a showcase of their accomplishments. Join us and be a part of this tradition of excellence, while helping us continue to provide high quality programs and services to our members and visitors.

The following are the specific areas and committees organized by the Connecticut State Grange Hosting Committee. Many of these areas and committees will need additional manpower. Anyone wishing to volunteer their time are asked to complete the Volunteer Sign-Up form either online or download the PDF file and drop it in the mail. Here's the specific areas / committees requesting the help of volunteers to join their teams:

Command Center ~

Hospitality ~ Committee Chair: Barbara Salisbury

• Set-up and replenish refreshments for delegates and convention attendees

Transportation ~ Committee Chairs: Marge & Carl Bernhardt

• Transport Delegates and designated attendees and guests to and from airport

Registration ~ Committee Chairs: Patricia & Jim Palmer

• Greet Delegates and attendees during registration, distribution of registration badges and convention information

Flowers / Decorations ~ Committee Chair: Jodi Ann Cameron

• This Department works directly with the National Grange

Tours ~ Committee Chair: Jody A. Cameron

• Tours will take place on Monday for Delegates; Thursday for Non-Delegates, and a Junior Tour. If shuttle buses are required for Evening of Excellence and 7th Degree, volunteers will be needed on each bus to assist in any way

• Video production of selected convention activities for the Connecticut State Grange Convention website: www.nationalgrange2008.com

• "Reporters" and Photographers will be needed to provide news and updates for website and other media.

• Additional needs may be identified as National communicates its requirements.

Deputies ~

• Deputies will be needed for all Business Sessions of the National Grange. Deputies must be 7th Degree members but do not have to be deputies in their home states.
